Strategic Planning 2025–2028: Play Matters Australia
About
Project title: Strategic Planning 2025-2028
Client: Play Matters Australia
Status: Completed May 2025
Background
Play Matters Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation that delivers community playgroups, parenting programs and early childhood services. Play Matters engaged Beacon Strategies to support the development of its next strategic plan, aiming to build on existing strengths and ensure relevance in a changing policy and funding environment.
Approach
Beacon Strategies worked alongside Play Matters’ leadership to deliver a strategic planning process grounded in insight, participation and purpose. The approach included document review, staff and board workshops, stakeholder consultation interviews, a partner survey and strategic synthesis. Our role was to facilitate collaborative exploration of the organisation’s purpose, operating environment and opportunities for growth and impact.
Outcome
The project produced a Strategic Plan for 2025–2028, structured around four key priorities. The document captures a shared vision for the future, strategic objectives, and an outcomes-focused approach to impact. Beacon Strategies also delivered a strategic narrative and internal summary slides to support implementation, communication and performance monitoring. In addition, we facilitated a leadership workshop to introduce the strategic plan and support the creation of a culture that embraces change and opportunity.
