Refreshing our project approach post-COVID-19

We’re back and ready to go!

After the hard decision to put a six-month delay on the Cairns and Hinterland Suicide Prevention Action Plan Project, we are thrilled to have it back up and running.

Given the serious nature of the pandemic itself and also due to the project requiring extensive stakeholder and community engagement, the decision was made to put a hold on this project for 6 months in April 2020. The recommencement of the project was then reviewed in September of 2020 where the decision was made that it was appropriate to re-engage the project and its relevant stakeholders.

As a part of our refreshed project approach post-COVID-19, the following actions will now be undertaken in addition or alternatively to the previously established project approach:

  1. New project timeline, this project is now expected to conclude by June 30th

  2. Expanded the existing CAG

  3. Continuing to broaden the reach of the project inclusive of community members and sector professionals
