Access to Allied Psychology Services program review: Brisbane South PHN

Status: Completed in July 2017

Client: Brisbane South PHN

Background

Brisbane South PHN was seeking to understand the current and potential future state of their Access to Allied Psychology Services program. Beacon Strategies were engaged to lead the review and provide guidance on program re-design.

Approach

The project reviewed each of the specific elements of the ATAPS program to fully understand how the current program operated. Concurrently, work was done to understand what the potential future state of the delivery of psychological services may look like for the BSPHN region. Recommendations were delivered in relation to how the service model could be improved given that the service is due to be recommissioned as of July 1, 2017.

The two primary deliverables for this project were:

  • A summary report detailing the review of the current ATAPS program and recommendations for commissioning the future program, and

  • Tender specifications for the commissioning process

Outcomes

Beacon Strategies delivered a review that informed the significant redesign of the Brisbane South PHN ATAPS program, driving services to meet the needs of underserved populations and gaining service delivery efficiencies.
