Nerelle Nicol, Project Coordinator
Nerelle is a senior First Nations woman, committed and passionate about affecting real change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Born and raised on the homelands of the Kuku Yalangi people in Mossman, Nerelle descends from the Juru clan of the Birri-Gubba Nation, around the Bowen/Ayr region and Erubam Le and Ugaram Le from the eastern parts of Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait).
Nerelle has lived in metropolitan, regional and remote communities, working extensively in the public and community sector, in administration or by elected representation. She has held appointments across all tiers of government and as an Independent Consultant Nerelle has been subcontracted to work on a range of research, reform, engagement and business projects across Far North Queensland.
As a collaborative Nerelle brings exceptional community focus, cultural facilitation and capability development and advanced level engagement and stakeholder management.
An aspiring ‘Creative’ Nerelle is also passionate about social and community history, curatorial development, environmental photography and storytelling through a range of mediums.
