Community survey: Gold Coast child immunisation services

Gold Coast PHN is exploring ways to increase the number of children who are fully vaccinated in our region. Child immunisation is a safe and effective public health measure that helps to protect children and our wider community from harmful diseases.

We want to hear from local parents and caregivers living in the Gold Coast region about their views and experiences of child immunisation services. This will help us to understand how we can make immunisation services easier to find and use for local families.

If you are a parent or other caregiver (e.g. grandparent, foster/kin carer) of a child aged 0-8 years living on the Gold Coast, you can share your perspective through this short, online survey. Please read through the information below if you’d like to know more about what to expect.

About the survey

  • The survey will ask you some questions about your family’s experience of getting vaccinated, such as:

    • what you think about getting your children vaccinated - including any concerns you might have

    • what you know about immunisation services – such as what’s recommended for your child

    • any difficulties you’ve experienced with immunisation services in the past

    • anything that has made it easier or more comfortable for you to access immunisation services

    • any ideas you have to make information or immunisation services better for families in your community

    You can share as much or as little detail in your responses as you wish, but please only share information that you feel comfortable to.

    The survey shouldn’t take any more than 10 minutes of your time to complete.

  • You’ll remain anonymous — you won’t be asked to provide your name or any other identifying information about you or your family. There are some simple ‘demographic’ questions at the start, which are just to help us understand who we are hearing from.

  • This survey is being hosted by Beacon Strategies, an organisation based in Queensland who is assisting Gold Coast PHN with this work.

    All responses will be analysed by Beacon Strategies and turned into a report on what we find that goes back to Gold Coast PHN — Gold Coast PHN may choose to share a summary of the survey themes publicly, but this won’t identify any person who has participated.
